EPC project update: New oily wastewater treatment plant in block 68
At Block 68 we are delivering an EPC project for a new oily-wastewater oil-separation unit, aimed at modernising and centralising treatment. As of early 2026, major installations are complete; individual, functional and tightness (leak) tests are in progress, and installation of the underground DN 500 pipeline for de-oiled water from Block 68 to the HOMO basins in Block 66 has started.
Project status – early 2026:
• All process equipment, machines, hoists and vessels are installed.
• Piping installation is close to completion; individual, functional and leak-tightness tests are underway.
• Electrical and I&C installation is in progress, including tie-ins to the new switchrooms.
• Installation of electric heat tracing and thermal insulation is in progress.
• Earthworks and installation of the underground DN 500 de-oiled-water pipeline from Block 68 to the HOMO basins in Block 66 have started.
About the project:
This is an investment project at the Chempark Záluží site, involving the construction of a new oily-wastewater oil-separation technology at Block 68 within the Water Management section.
The project aims to modernise the treatment of oil-contaminated waters and centralise treatment units within Block 68.
A new oil-separation unit with a capacity of 2 × 200 m³/h will be designed and built at Block 68. The new technology will process incoming wastewater step by step and separate it into settled oil, de-oiled water, and solid residues (centrifuged sludge or coarse screenings). The recovered oil will be returned to the refining/processing stream. The de-oiled water will be pumped for chemical polishing.
The existing de-oiling line at Block 22 will be decommissioned. Block 22 will subsequently serve only as a collection point with mechanical pre-treatment and retention capacity.
As the EPC general contractor, we provide the full scope: preparation of detailed design documentation, all supplies, execution of works and services across all disciplines – through commissioning and permanent operation, up to the final building approval.
